The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE) is organizing a colloquium to discuss the “Business Developments in the Energy Sector of SE Europe”. The event will take place at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel on February 23, 2010 (17:00-22:00 h.). The scope of the meeting is to inform on the most recent energy developments in Greece as well as in the whole SE Europe region

The extended use or Renewable Energy Sources (RES) could cover vital and ever-increasing needs for power generation, energy needs for buildings and green fuels for transport in Greece but also in the SE Europe area. Greece’s RES potential is very high, in both absolute and comparable terms with other EU countries, and constitutes a challenge as regards its exploitation with new technology applications which can ensure sustained development while at the same time help reduce the country’s dependence on oil.
